Preserving Family Memories Through AI-Guided Storytelling

Legende.ai is a French startup dedicated to helping families preserve the life stories of their elders. Their mission is to make memoir creation effortless for seniors, with no typing and no interface to learn, just conversation.

Partnering with Plus8Soft, Legende.ai built a fully self-service, voice-first storytelling platform. A grandmother pairs her own iPad with a code sent to her phone, then simply talks, answering questions that grow gently more personal as the conversation deepens, at her own pace. Behind the scenes, AI transcribes, refines, and weaves her spoken memories into polished chapters of a family book, and knows when a story is actually finished rather than cutting her off at an arbitrary limit. The platform works in French, English, and Russian, understands speech in any language, and turns every session into finished prose, complete with her own photos.

We built a complete voice-first platform that turns spoken conversation into a finished chapter of a family book. By pairing a distraction-free iPad app with an AI that knows how to listen, ask, and recognize when a story is complete.

Storyteller iPad App

A native iPad app built around one simple loop: record, listen back, then re-record or confirm. There are no menus to dig through and nothing to remember. Gentle pulsing animation shows when it's listening, a Library holds both in-progress transcripts and finished chapters.

An AI That Knows When a Story Is Done

Instead of cutting a conversation off after a fixed number of questions, the AI judges when a chapter has enough material to stand on its own, then moves to the next one. Questions start light and only grow more personal as trust builds, so sensitive topics are approached gradually instead of all at once.

Self-Service Setup, No Family Member Required

Seniors pair their own iPad with a one-time code sent by text or WhatsApp. The system also learns how to spell each storyteller's name correctly and uses it accurately in every question that follows. Deleting an account is just as simple, with a confirmation text and a clear record of consent.

Speaks Any Language, Writes in Three

Storytellers can speak in whatever language feels natural. The platform detects it automatically and delivers the finished chapters in French, English, or Russian, whichever the family chose for the book. Every question on screen and every word of encouragement is localized, so the experience never feels translated.

Full Visibility Into Cost and Usage

Every AI call, from transcription to chapter assembly, is tracked in a per-call cost ledger, so Legende.ai always knows exactly what each conversation costs to produce. Usage analytics and delivery monitoring run quietly in the background, giving the team a clear picture of how storytellers are actually using the app.
